Hi Linda, What an interesting story!!! In "Marriage Returns of Washington County, Maine, prior to 1892", I found no STOKOE, checked all surnames that began with 'STO' and found no matches. Also, didn't find any SPEARS, or any matches under SPARIN, SPEARIN/G. "Vital Records from the Eastport Sentinel of Eastport, Maine, 1818-1900" Maine Genealogical Society, edited by Kenneth L. Willey. Picton Press. The only Naomi I found was: Vol 72 #10, 12 Feb 1890 Deaths: In Calais, 3 Feb 1890, Naomi SPEARING, 46 y.
