    2. Dear Frances: Thanks for your response to my post. I have not been into or through Washington County since about 1982, when I passed through with my family on our way up to Cape Breton Island. I remember that the coast of Maine there was quite beautiful, but at that time I had no idea there were Whitneys in Washington County. If I had specific questions I might address them to the Washington County Historical Society, probably by mail. For years I lived in southeastern Kentucky, but have moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland for my retirement. So, I'm a little closer, but not much. Without a specific research project involving the Whitneys of Washington County, it is unlikely that I will take the time to come up there and search. Nonetheless, I am very interested in learning anything that might come along on the maillist about the Whitneys, and would be able to contribute some information about this family in general to someone who had found their way back to the Whitneys there and couldn't go further back to the ancestors of the Washington Co. Whitneys. Happy Hunting. Allan E. Green

    3. It just dawned on me that perhaps some of the individuals on the Washington County List would like to know about the W. K. R. P. Report. It is the Washington & Charlotte Kounty Records Preservation. Newsletter. Published 4 times a year. Co-Editors are Kenneth Willey and Sharon Howland. I really enjoy the information and have found connections thru this newsletter. Remember " Not Everyone has a Computer ", some individuals still rely on snail mail. But have a wealth of information to offer and exchange. Queries are free. To become a member, all they ask is a donation, to keep the newsletter running. Inquiries or Queries may be sent to: W. K. R.
