    3. I couldn't find a Joseph in Calais but did find Jeremiah, Sr. in 1870 census in Calais, Washington, Maine: roll 562, page 85B -- this is hard to read: Casey, Jeremiah, 50, laborer, b. Ireland, parents both of foreign birth " Catherine, 43?, keeping house, " " " William, 18?, seaman, b. Maine, " " Kate, 20, at. dom. service, b. Ireland, " " Jeremiah, 16, at sea, b. Maine, " " Patrick, 13, at school, " " " Margaret, 10, " " " " Timothy, 8, b. Maine, " " Thomas, 6, " " If this is the right family, it looks like the family emigrated c. 1851.
