Colbeth Jr., 81, of Hudson, died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at home after being stricken ill. He was the husband of Ruth I. (Stanhope) Colbeth, who died in 1998. Born in Addison, Maine, he was the son of the late Martin H. Colbeth Sr. and Florence (Albee) Colbeth, and lived in Harvard before moving to Hudson eight years ago. He attended school in Calais, Maine, and was a graduate of Ellsworth High School in Maine. Mr. Colbeth was a self-employed custodial engineer, servicing several apartment buildings in Brookline, until his retirement 20 years ago. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the Asian-Pacific Theatre. He leaves a brother-in-law, Martin Stanhope of Hudson; several nieces and nephews; and cousins. Funeral services will be held today, at 8 p.m, at the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. A graveside service will be held Friday, Dec. 29, at 1 p.m., at Calais Cemetery, Calais, Maine. Visiting hours will be today, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
