Hi eveyone, I'm hoping that someone can help me with this massive confusion that I have. I am researching a Lawrence family who lived in Le'Tete/Letite. I have a question about Le'Tete. On the grant map that I have, Le'Tete (spelled Letite) is located to the west of Back Bay(land)and looks like a pennisula; however, there is a Letite bay at the top portion of the Back Bay(water) inbetween Back Bay(land) and Frye Island. I also read somewhere on the Charlotte county Genweb site that Frye Island used to be Letete Island, and was granted to William Paine? On the grant map it is listed as Frye Island. I had found a land grant to William Paine for 680 acres of land on Letete Island. To me on the map, Letete looks like a pennisula, is it an island? Or were there two Letete's, or was the whole Back bay area once Letite? In the 1865-1867 Hutchinson's directory, George and Nathan Lawrence are living in Le'tete in the community of Back Bay. Thank you very much to anyone who can clear up my confusion. Leanne
