To all... Crazy as it sounds Carol Glidden is correct in her reading of my message of April 24th... Yes the law states that the towns are not SUPPOSED to show the vital records after 1892 to the general public .. but the records of some towns are on microfilm and can be viewed at the Maine State Archives in Augusta ... another crazy law that doesn't make much sense. In addition some town clerks just look the other way and allow the viewing of the records ... and others will show you the ruling and deny the viewing of those records...
