    3. Beverly, Thank you so much. This may prove to be the answer that I have been seeking. "Prove" being the key word. It may be that "Willet" has been mistaken all these years for the William who is supposed to have married Eliza Young." William Carpenter and Eliza Young are given on their son, Thomas's death record although Thomas stated on his marrieage record that his " father was Thomas". Perhaps Thomas never "knew " his father. I did prove Eliza, Thomas's mother and that she remarried to Alvin Sylvester in 1846. It is great to get the help from the list. Thank you again. beverly l bird wrote: > Hi Sharyn, > "Marriage Returns of Washington County, Maine, prior to 1892" Maine Genealogical > Society, edited by Alice MacDonald Long, Picton Press. > CARPENTER given names listed: Iva, Mary, Mary Ann, Ruth H. > > "Vital Records from the Eastport Sentinel of Eastport, ME, 1818-1900" Maine > Genealogical Society, edited by Kenneth L.
