To All: If I read the e-mail right it is saying that the original records of the Towns are not viewable by the public. But other records that have the same info are. Maine State Archieves has Birth Death & Marriage records from 1892 to 1955 on film for anyone to research, From 1892- 1926 if a record is unreadable they will check cards listed in boxes downstairs and show you the card. After that you have to pay for the copy from the VR office of Human Services. I have found records that are miss filed on the films because of spelling. Some are hard to read but on the whole they have all the info on parents etc. Carol J Grasse Glidden 1960 to 1996 deaths are online from the Archieves as are the Marriages from 1892 Lots of Towns did turn in their town records for copying and are on film.
