NEWS OF THE WASHINGTON COUNTY GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY CALAIS – There will be a meeting of the Washington County Genealogical Society to be held at from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 17th at the Calais Free Library in Calais. The society was organized in the fall of 1992 and is open to all who are interested in family history and genealogy whether a beginner or advanced. Besides providing a networking system for researchers, WCGS promotes the preserving of records, photos and educational opportunities for Washington County genealogists. Those attending are encouraged to bring research problems, share new findings, and suggest programs and activities for the coming year. The public is invited to attend. The meeting is open to the public and those interested in research are invited to come and see what connections they might have to families from this area of Maine.
