I thought I would just throw out a list of the lines where I am currently stuck, just to see if someone on this list has already made the connection to the earlier generation. My problem couples: 1. Benjamin James, b. ca. 1811 in NH, d. 1873 in Calais, m. Sarah Glidden, b. Oct. 1812 in NH, d. 6 Mar 1892 in Princeton; both buried in Calais. Children: Ezekiel, Martha, Susan, Sarah, Horatio N., Josiah E., Ann E., Charles Frederick, Henrietta, Emerson. . 2. William Jones, b. Apr 1782, probably in Damariscotta, but perhaps NS or NB, d. 6 Mar 1863 in Trescott; m. Elizabeth Simmons (or Seamans), b. 20 Jun 1790 in St. John, NB, or Lubec, d. 31 Oct 1858 in Trescott. Both buried in Hill Road Cemetery, Trescott. Children: Samuel, Sarah Jane, Mary Ann, William, John, Elizabeth, Hiram A 3. Pliny Fisher, d. Waite; marriage intentions 29 Aug 1814 in Steuben with Betsy Parker, b. 3 Jul 1797, d. 10 Jan 1872, a widow. Only known child: Julia Ann Fisher, b. abt. 1818 in Steuben, d. Jul 1900 in Eastport; m. James Ripley (the younger) 9 Nov 1843 in Waite. 4. James E. Ripley, b. abt. 1795 in Jefferson, d. 12 Jan 1864 in Waite; m. 6 May 1813 in Nobleboro to Eunice Linscott, b. abt. 1791, d. 4 Feb 1858 in Waite. Both buried in Waite. Children: Mary L., Catharine H., James, Cushman B., Sylvanus, Albert, Nathaniel, Thomas, Edward. 5. Henry Scott, b. abt. 1812, perhaps in Alexander, d. 19 Oct. 1883 in Calais, m. Mary Beverly, b. abt. 1813 in Baileyville, d. before 1848, by which time her husband had married again. Mary is perhaps a daughter of Farnham Beverly and Lucy Peabody, who lived in Baileyville for a time and later in Whiting. Children of Henry Scott and Mary Beverly: John, Horace, Andrew Jackson, Amanda (always known as "Addie"). Henry's daughter by his second wife, Nancy _____: Mary Emma. 6. Elizabeth Jellison (or Jellerson), b. abt. 1837 in Miramichi, NB, d. 13 Dec. 1924 in Baileyville; married (1) 17 Jul 1858 in Mount Desert, Hancock, ME John McKenzie Wentworth, b. 10 Sep. 1825, d. abt. 1876 in Calais; married (2nd) Edward Dean, b. abt. 1856 in MacAdam or Magaguadevic, NB, d. May 1887 in Grand Lake Stream. Children by John M. Wentworth: John Thomas, Walter M. Children by Edward Dean: William Henry, Freddie F., Edward. John Wentworth's genealogy is documented in "The Wentworth Genealogy", by John Wentworth, 3 vols., 1878. I am interested in Elizabeth and Edward's genealogies. She does not appear to be a daughter of Sylvanus Jellison and Hannah Vye, as their daughter, Elizabeth was born in 1822. My grandmother always told me that her grandmother Elizabeth was married first to a "sea captain." John was a sailor. She also told me that Elizabeth was older than her 2nd husband and that he was terribly burned in a tannery fire and crawled home and died in the door yard. Any leads greatly appreciated.
