Hi List, My grandfather was Harmon Rodney Townsend, Born February 28, 1919, in Lubec, Maine. I was told through family stories that his birth name was Golding/Golden and I recently went to Lubec to get his birth certificate and confirmed that it was indeed Golding/Golden( the records weren't clear enough to tell, so they put Golden on his certificate). My problen lies with his father, Elgin Golding/Golden. The birth certificate does not give an age, date of birth, for Elgin, just his place of birth, Eastport, Maine. I have contacted Eastport and they have no record of an Elgin Golding/Golden. I am looking for anyone who might have some advice or recognize the name. Thank you in advance for your help.
