Hi Listers, The "New" GenConnect boards are mainly up and running, but the search engines are still not working correctly. Please have patience as the "powers" are slowly ironing out the bugs. In order to POST to the Boards, you must first get a user name. This is FREE! If you want to just look around, you don't need a user name. You CAN NOT click on the name of a poster and expect it to be a hyperlink the way the old boards used to let us. Old msgs on the boards PRIOR to June 22 are "called" Legacy messages. You WILL NOT see email addresses for posters. If you click on "Print Message", you can see the poster's email address. It will NOT print at this stage. When you "post" a query on any board, you will see a "Classification" box near the end of the screen. Initially it is blank, and IF you are ASKING a QUESTION leave this box blank. BLANK means your post is a query. Also, if you want to know when new msgs are posted on a board, once you get to the board you need to add it to your Notifications. Then, once a day you will get a list of new msgs from that board, instead of the old way where you got the notice EACH time a msg was posted. Another change.......if you click on Admin Info you should be taken to a page that shows links to the appropriate GenWeb site associated with that board. However Board administrators are still having problems setting this up, so again, have patience. I'm willing to take suggestions/ideas for changes to be made to the way the board work.
