    1. [MEWASHIN-L] Calais City plan
    2. Can anyone tell me where the following parcel is located in Calais today? Abiel Wood of Wiscasset, Esquire, for $550.00 sells Joseph W. Glidden "now conversant of Calais…a certain lot of land situate and being in said town of Calais and numbered seventeen in the second range of lots back from the Schoodiac river on the plan of said Calais by Benjamin R. Jones and adjoining on the southerly and westerly end the long Megurrawock lot so-called numbered fifty on said plan, and on the westerly side of said lot the lot owned by Isaiah Merryfield referring to said plan for a more full and definite description of said lot which contains by estimation one hundred ninety three acres…" signed by Abiel Wood Nov. 17, 1829 (Washington Co. Deeds, Vol. 21, p. 75-76). Later deeds involving the same parcel refer to "Nash's Mill road on the side line between lots numbered seventeen and eighteen in the second range...," if that helps. This land was the original Glidden homestead farm in Calais. David Mitchell James PO Box 743 Rye, NH 03870-0743 jamesdm49@aol.com
