This month the Hancock County Genealogical Society meeting is Saturday, JAN 20, 2001 (2:30 pm at the Riverview Room of the Ellsworth Library) Featured speaker is Richard Spinney, our most valued President. His subject is Beginning Genealogy -a kind of short course, which should help everyone whether a novice just starting to search for ancestors, or the more experienced searcher who will get a refresher course. For those of you who have recently met someone just starting their searches, why not bring them to the meeting when you come (or send them if you can't come). Keep in mind that the $5.00 membership is an inexpensive Gift to give someone just starting out. (though you do not have to be a member to come to the meetings, the bimonthly "Hancock Historian", our newsletter, is more than worth the dues). So make a plan to come to the Library Saturday and enjoy the great genealogy collection upstairs; and at 2:30 take in the meeting downstairs. Looking forward to seeing you there!
