I am trying to learn more about William McDONALD who is said to be the father of my gggrandmother Amanda McDONALD ROBINSON. I understand that he was married to Love RAMSDELL. Amanda McDONALD married Sanford Hunt ROBINSON December 1854 in Lubec. Our family records say that Amanda was born in Scotland but I see no reason to believe that that is true. One more thing. Information provided to me by Pat Townsend indicates Amanda and Sanford had a child Saphira ROBINSON, b. Sept 9, 1855 in Lubec. This child is never mentioned in any of our family records. Did she die young? Barbara in Canada

Hi ... Would anyone know how I can find out more about a family listed in the 1790 census?? There is a James BROWN family living East of Machias on plantation #13. He is the only family there. I am wondering if this could be my 5th great grandparents, who later could have moved to Campobello, NB. There was 1 male over 16, 5 under 16 and one female at the time. The ages appear to be about right to possibly be them. Any idea how 'close" this plantation would have been to Campobello?? Thanks!! Greetings, Does anyone on the list have access to records showing the names of people who settled with original planters? I'm trying to track down my ancestor Andrew Harrington. Some of his land was acquired from John Curry. In the NB grant database it lists Curry and "42 others" for one of Curry's grants. I wonder if there is a list of the "42 others". Also, has anyone come across a gentleman named Fenno who was a land speculator in the Passamaquodddy region in the 1760s? Notes I have say that Andrew harrington bought some of his land from Fenno. Was wondering if anyone had any records related to Fenno. My ggggrandfather was Joseph ROBINSON (b. 1791). He is said to have married Sarah (Sally) RAMSDELL in 1809 or Aug 1811 in Dennisville, Washington County, Maine. Sally, my ggggrandmother, is said to have died in 1834 in Lubec, Me. In 1835 Joseph is said then to have married Fanny (Frances) RAMSDELL in 1835 and sometime afterwards they moved to Adams or Juneau County Wisconsin. They are buried in Necedah, Wis., and I have photographed their gravestone. Can someone help me make these "is said to haves" official ? Does anyone know if official records of Joseph and Sally ROBINSON exist? If I were to visit Maine this summer where would I most efficently find them and get copies? Does anyone know the year that Joseph and Fanny left for Wisconsin? Thanks for any help. Barbara in Alberta, Canada

I came across a Henry W. Keen in my research this week on my family. He was a professional musician b. 1849 in Calais, Maine and apparently resided in Calais. I have no dates for either one of them but their daughter Jane Eleanor West was born 08 April 1839 and Jane married James Moore on 06 May 1860. They lived in and around Prospect, Frankfurt, Monroe according to statistics of relatives. I did find a Phineus West in Rhode Island but it's his wife Eliza or Elizsa Clark that is giving me fits. Eventually this line goes into my Huston / Hustus line. I'll keep your name if you don't mind. I know I have another hard-to-find person but I put them so far on the back burner I can't even remember their name right now. That's the trouble with genealogy, you know. By the time you're old enough to realize it's importance, you're too old to remember who, what and why without all these stacks of papers!!!
