I am looking for information on a John Gould who was married to a Mary Welch about 1850 - give or take a couple of years. They may have resided in Mercer or Smithfield, Maine. There is also the possibility that John's surname was Gray. This couple may have drowned before 1860 and left at least one daughter, named Alice M., b. 1852, there may have been two more daughters, according to family legend. Information found also suggests that Alice might have been born in Kennebec Co. If any of these names sound the least bit familiar to anyone, I would like to hear from you. Regards, Ardell
