Can't say one way or the other, have talked to others who did but I just have not found anything on John Smart's parents other than land deeds which say his parents were Betsy HILTON & John SMART. John Smart senior died about 1774 in Newmarket or Exeter. Betsy's parents were Edward & Elizabeth Hilton. The only records I have been able to find has been land deeds.
