    3. Am interested in whatever anyone has on a William Raymond from Middleborough, Mass. and later Wayne, Maine, who, according to Ann Raymond (mailto: Rgraymond@aol.com): > "According to the age he gave in his Rev War pension application he > was born > in 1756. I am fairly sure he descends from the immigrant John Raymond > rather > than John's brother William since he named a son Thomas....most of > John's > descendants do (after Thomas Scruggs) and did not name a child Edward > (as > most of William's descendants do). > One of my William Raymond's sons was named Solomon, an uncommon name > in the family. > According to Mass Soldiers and Sailor, a Solomon Raymond served in > the Rev from Middleboro leaving a brother William as his heir who was > due the > back pay.....suggesting that the parents had died. Raymond of Middleborough, born ca. 1772 who died in Solon, Somerset County, Maine in 1842. My Joseph married Deborah (probably Deborah Lewis [1]) and had children Joseph L.(Jr.), George Washington, Melvina, Abigail and Deborah that I know of. [1] Rochester Massachusetts Vital Records to 1850, 2:253 "RAYMOND Joseph of Middl[ebor]o and Deborah Lewis of Middl[ebor]o, Oct. 4, 1795." Regards, Raymond Wm. Johnson Leominster, Mass.
