Surnames: Patten Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UEB.2ACE/468 Message Board Post: I am looking for anyone doing research on Patten families in and around Pittsfield. I have a couple pages of info on descendants of Joseph and Betsey Patten sent to my by a very nice lady in Millenocket who is also a descendant and collected info from her grandmother's scrap book. She has Joseph Patten b. abt. 1777 in possibly Skowhegan married Betsey (maiden name unknown) b. abt. 1778. They had 12 children: Josiah - b. 1798 in Skowhegan Sophronia b. 1800 in West Pittsfield John W. - b. 1802 in West Pittsfield Moody - b. 1803 in West Pittsfield Joseph - b. 1806 in West Pittsfield Leander - b. 1807 in " " " " " " " Hiram - b. 1812 in " " " " " " " " Elvira - b. 1816 in " " " " " " " " " Philenia - b. 1819 " " " " " " " " " Benjamin - b. 1819 (?mistake?)" " " " " " " " Betsey - b. 1822 " " " " " " " " " " Elbridge G. - b. 1814 in " " " " " " " " " I am descended from Elbridge G. She has many other descendants on these sheets. If anyone is researching Pattens in that area, let me know and I can bounce some more names off you and see if they are familiar to you. It's just too much to put in one message. I would like to find parents of Joseph and Betsey and also Betsey's maiden name. Having a very hard time, up against some very stubborn brick walls. Any help welcome and love to hear from any distant cousins. Some of this Joseph's sons and grandsons were listed as Selectmen of Pittsfield at various times. Some of these were John W., Joseph, Alonzo, George, if that sound familiar to anyone.
