    3. Frances: There's a Longley Cem. in Norridgewock. I was in it this afternoon looking for something to help Denise in Australia. There's a Frank Longley in that cem. who served in the Civil War and I wonder now if William Henry might have also been in the Civil War after his wife died in 1860. I took pics and have sent them directly to Denise. 1. [MESOMERS] LONGLEY, William HENRY
    2. Denise McMahon
    3. I am desperately seeking information on William HENRY LONGLEY who was from Norridgewock Somerset Co. Maine. He was born circa 1830, went seeking his fortune in gold in 1853, returned to Maine in 1857, married Martha AUGUSTUS HOUGHTON in 1857. She died in 1860 and is buried in the Madison Bridge Cemetery. I have not been able to locate W. Henry Longley after 1860 and am hoping someone recognises the name. It may be his father was John S. Longley and his mother Jane. Siblings in 1850 census in Norridgewock - Hannah, Amos, Elizabeth, and a 40 year old by the name of Sarah resided in the household. I am pretty sure this is the correct family for Henry Longley - who was noted as 20 years of age. Many thanks Denise

    3. >From Vital Records for Bingham, Somerset County, Maine. I got the following Cooley Family information from the Family History Library microfilm. It is a very small reel so I copied the entire film to CD while I was there it took a couple of weeks but since I have lots of family on this reel: Gilman, Moody, Willey, Cooley etc. it was worth the time spent. In fact if there are any of these families in your cemetery records I would appreciate a copy. For cemetery information has anyone checked out the Find A Grave site. I have yet to put my Maine family on there but I don't have any tombstone photos of them either. Bingham: Jan 6, 1878 Town Clerk of Bingham. Dear Sir this certifies that I have this day solemnized teh marriage of Mr. Leander Cooley of Bingham, and Miss Annstassie Mae Gilman of Brighton, which you will please record. Charles B. Gilman - Gustice of Peace A true copy attest M.A. Goodrich Town Clerk. Married in Bingham, Nov. 10th A.D. 1870, Mr. Millard F Cooley and Miss Lucie A. Robinson both of Bingham by Theodore Amez, Justice of Peace as certified to me by said justice. Simon Goodrichg, Town Clerk. March 34rd, 1835, Published the intentions of marriage between Mr. Edward Cooly and Miss Martha Spencer both of Bingham. William Rowell, Town Clerk Certificate from March 14th, 1835. I know there is lots more Cooley information in the microfilm, I will check and get back to the list if anyone is interested. I don't think I have seen this source addressed before. Leona

I live in Texas, but many of my ancestors lived in various towns in Somerset County. If anyone should happen across any gravesites for Cooley's, I would greatly appreciate receiving the information. I got my ggg-grandfather's death certificate in the mail today and it states he died in Madison on March 12, 1898 at the age of 92, but is buried in St. Albans. I have found other references to other family members also being buried in St. Albans, though they lived in other towns in Somerset County. Thanks for any help you can lend!
