    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UEB.2ACE/204.2.1.1 Message Board Post: I may have a family connection to my GG-Grandmother, but unsure of the reliability at this time. I believe the familly she is related too is from ME, initially from New Brunswick, CAN. My GG-Grandfather was in the civil war and this I found out through research on Ancestry (when I had my membership) and because his and his wife's name matched and the states where they lived, I knew it was him. Plus I have a great-aunt still living that has told me that he was in the war. As far as their marraige information, I lucked out. I was directed to a different name website and in reviewing it found my GG-grandfather & GG-grandmother listed with the incorrected last name, with the listing of when they were married and where, also their son's name and his wife's name and where they resided, which I knew was exact. I then retrieved the information from the JCLS cards index, and viewed it on reel, and voila' there was the information with their names. They had lived in Massachuse! tts and Illinois. I haven't ruled out that the Deming's and Roix's that I am related too may possibly be connected to those in Wisconsin, but I don't have a connection at this time, I'm at a dead end. As for your Nellie Roix, I check familysearch.org and she is not listed. I did however find a Nettie Roix, lived in WI in 1860, born in IL, but she was married to a George Roix. What time frame are you looking at for your grandparents? I would love to continue to help you locate information on these people and who knows I may luck out and find the information I'm looking for at the same time. If you would like, you may email me at JKCarter101098@hotmail.com. Good luck.

Do you know any of your GG Grandmas sisters names? The pension you mention, is that from him being in the war or from something else? and how did you find that info? I will keep the info on Lydia Door/Dore for future reference. I don't know about Wentworth Doore settling in Harmony, but the East Somerset County Register, 1911-1912 (Chatto & Turner, Auburn, Maine, 1912) does mention on p. 113 that among the pioneers who came to Harmony were Stephen Dore & David Kimball, also on p. 115, in regards to the formation of the Methodist Church in 1826, the names of Nathaniel Dore & Isaiah Doore.

    3. Do you have any connection to a Nellie Dore that married Amos Lawrence? Nellie born about 1864. Amos Lawrence born Sept. 5, 1854. They were in the Skowhegan and Hartland area. Nellie Dore died in childbirth. They had a daughter, Alice Mae Lawrence was born February 8, 1885. I may not have the spelling of Dore correct....as I have very little info. Alice Mae was my Grandfather's half-sister. She was said to be quite pretty and that as a young girl she went to the city (maybe New York) to become an actress. I don't believe anyone ever had any contact with her after that. Any match in your files? Thanks, Yo-Jean

My brother-in-law's mother's first husband was a "Gray" and I believe his name was Albert. I'm not exactly sure what town he lived in but a good chance it's the same as where she is living now, which is Rangely, ME. It would put him to being born around the 1930's. If this may fit your family tree let me know and I'll check with family members.
