Does anyone have information about this individual? I am anxious to learn if he has any connection to my Gilman family. Thanks, Del in Paso Robles, California (which is still quaking)
Del in Paso Robles, California (which is still quaking) I read your post, my Gilman line was in Bingham, Somerset County. You wouldn't happen to have Hon. David Gilman (aka Johathan Wiley) born 1796, who married Fannie Spofford born July 15, 1797? This David Gilman changed his name from Wiley to Gilman in 1827 according to the Maine Legislative Index, courtesy of the Maine State Archives located on rootsweb. David and Fannie had 13 children: Infant 1820-1820, Esther Jane 1821, Sarah 1823, Mary J. 1825, Able Ware 1826-1902, Hiram S. 1828, Silas 1830, David Jr. 1832, Leonard 1834, Fanny 1836, Charles 1837, Lucy 1839, Ester Ann 1842. My g-g-grandmother Mehitable Moody married David Gilman Jr. and her son Charles Moody Gilman was born in 1863 in Maine. Mehitable then married Able Ware and moved to Ames, Story, Iowa. Its a long story. I was wondering if we made a connection? Leona in Sonora, California leonag@mlode.com

Does anyone have information on the children of Ebenezer Boyd? He was born in Newburyport, MA in 1768. He came from Boston to Portland with his brothers Robert Boyd, Joseph Coffin Boyd, John Parker Boyd and William Boyd. He later left the life of a merchant and became a Baptist minister. I'm looking for the names and DOB of his children. He died in 1841. I have a lot of info on the older brothers but am having trouble identifying Ebenezer's children. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Linda J. Huff

I have two Adams girls, Mary and Lydia, could be sisters, who married Campbell brothers. Mary Adams 1794-1881 married Samuel Campbell before 1821 and their daughter Lydia Lucetta married David True and lived in Brighton in 1850, and she died there in 1874. Lydia was born 1790 and married first a Sherburne, and 2nd, John Campbell. - Jeanne ----- Original Message ----- From: <dale@matnet.com> To: <MESOMERS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 18, 2003 12:49 AM Subject: [MESOMERS] Re: Descendants of Ezekiel Clark, Somerset County, Maine > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/UEB.2ACE/381.2 > > Message Board Post: > > Iam looking adams form Mass to somerset . I have missed some of the prior recent exchanges concerning the Roix family, so am uncertain whether my following comments will be relevant or not. But as one of the messages referred to a NB Roix family I thought I should chime in a bit. One Roix family was of St George, NB. This was the family of Timothy Roix Sr, a Penobscot Loyalist. He, with his two adult sons John and Timothy Jr and their families, settled in NB in 1784, taking up land in the Mascarene section of St George. The spelling Roix was adopted gy this family following their settlement in NB. In the Penobscot Loyalist listings the name is spelled Roax. On some NB deeds, the name is given as Rourke. Timothy Sr married at Georgetown, ME as Roake in 1747, his wife being Margaret McCarty. His dau m in 1767 as Rouk. I believe Timothy was perhaps a descendant of the Ruck family of Salem, MA, but that is not proven. The above is further discussed and documented in an article which appeared in Generations, the journal of the NGB Gen Soc, in issue 50, of Dec 1991. The second point I would note is that Nelly is or was a nickname for Eleanor. Eleanor is a name found in several generations of the St George Roix family. Thirdly, some of this family is again found in Maine by the mid-1800s, especially in Washington Co. If relevant, some of the above may help. If not, please excuse this interjection.
