    1. John Kincaid-Norcross-Creasey of Maine
    2. Kuria1
    3. A friend of mine visited the grave of my GGGG_Grandfathe John Kincaid (son of Samuel Kincaid) who was born April 1764, and died December 31, 1840 in Hallowell, Maine. He married Susanna Dracutt on November 11, 1784 in Pownal, Maine. This is what she wrote: "Thanks to your directions, we quickly found John Kincaid's grave and took photos. We then went to the Augusta Cemetery Dept. at City Hall. There we discovered a mystery--which you may have the answer to. They pulled John Kincaid up on the computer, then pulled and made me a copy of the lot card. John is buried with Anna Norcross, d. 1851, and Hannah Norcross, d. 1854. The name of the lot owner is given as Hannah Norcross. The lot number is 27-A in the Ex. So. E. Section." John's granddaughter Marcia Cony Kincaid (through John's son Alexander) married a William H. Norcross, but that is the only relation to Norcross I have found. Question#1 : WHO IS HANNAH NORCROSS??? Does anyone have any idea? My friend also wrote "partially cleared 3 stones being covered over by grass and turf. They were: 1. Annie Carolin (this stone is next to John Kincaid) a daughter of Henry and Susan Norcross Sept. 21, 18?? Died 6 mon. 2. Hannah daughter of Henry and Susan Norcross Mar. 2, 1854 (best guess) 2 yrs. 10 mon. 3. Monument is buried and seems to be blank (maybe the back of the monument is up?) Tools would be needed to clear this monument, as only a small part of it could be seen." "John Kincaid's monument says: John Kincaid Pvt. McCobbs Mass Regt. Revolutionary War September 15, 1840" "We went to the Hallowell, ME, City Hall. The only cemetery records they had of Kincaids were in the 1900s. They had no record of a Guy Kincaid in any cemetery. The clerk got out the Hallowell Family Record Book for me to look at. It is all handwritten and pretty fragile. In it: Guy Kincade, son of John Kincad (sic) of Whitefield married Sarah, daughter of Jacob Creasey 1821." This is the first I have heard of Sarah Creasey's parents. "We found the Kincaid-Kennedy Cemetery on Route 218 in Whitefield, Me. Found tombstones as follows: 1. Samuel Kincaid Died 12-10-1814 Aet. 57 Sarah His wife Died 10-30-1835 Aet. 74 2. This stone directly behind stone #1, probably refers to Samuel and Sarah, but can't be certain. Cordelia D. 10-18-1825 Aet. 2 yrs. Helen Died June 18, 1818 Aet. 7 mon. (2 mon.? 7 is best guess) daughter of (stone ends here--it must have been broken and repaired) 3. John Kincaid Died Oct. 28, 1851 Aet. 52. 4. Mrs. Sarah Ann Wife of Isaac C. Choat Died 5-24-1813 Aet. 27 Daughter of Wm. and Harriet Kincaid 5. William S. Kincaid D. Mar. 4, 1871 aged 80 yrs., 9 ms. Harriet his wife died Aug. 18, 1870 aged 74 yrs., 9 ms. 6. Elceys wife of Isaac Kincaid Died July 6, 1829 Aet. 23 Here beneath this marble stone Is where I lay with those I've borne When Gabriel's trump shall rend the skies I with those infant babes shall rise. 7. Isaac A. Died Sept. 30, 1841 Aged 5 yrs. Mary Ann Died Sept. 10, 1839 Aged 3 mos. 11 days Samuel W. Died Sept 14, 1846 Aged 10 months Children of Isaac and Eunice Kincaid 8. Samuel A. Died Apr. 3, 1864 Aet. 16 yrs., 7 ms. 10 da. Mary E. Died Apr. 6, 1864 Aet. 13 yrs., 10 ms. 12 da. Children of Isaac and Eunice Kincaid 9. Isaac Kincaid Died Oct. 10, 1867 Aet. 70 yrs. & 5 ms. (U.S. flag on grave) 10. Eunice wife of Isaac Kincaid Died Feb. 6, 1902 Ae. 92 yrs. 4 ms. (U.S. flag on grave) 11. Mark Cunningham and wife Abigail. Mark: 1793-1868. Abigail: 1802-1876. I just wondered if they were related to the George Cunningham who married Lydia Kincaid, dau. of John K. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Friends. Fun. Try the all-new Yahoo! 3. I will call tomorrow and see what I can find out for you. The towns here are very small. Our library is only open two days a week, and for only a few hours each time. I will call and get you the hours of the libraries you asked about. I find that in the town of St. Albans, the people in the town hall are extremely friendly, and you are free to look at all the old town books and do research there. I haven't done any in Hartland, but will check it out and let you know. I live in Corinna.
