Hi Judy, Thanks for your reply. I can't say that I know of any Albert and Ellen Merritts, but at least it is in the right area - Qld. My Merritts originate from Toowoomba, but I don't know where from before that, although I have a few suspicions. The names I have are George (my great-grandfather), Charles and Sarah (George's parents), Charlotte, John, Harriett, Alice, Mary, Ethel, Edward, Eliza and Archibald (George's siblings). Charles' parents names were Thomas and Susan, but don't know if they were ever in Australia.
