I have not found any other references to this title in web searches (so far). Have any of the Merritt researchers on this list seen this book? Would you know where I could get a copy? Rich >> ----------------------------------------------- Hi Rich, While I'm interested in the Merritt connection here, I REALLY interested in your BIXBY connection. Hope your Merritt and Bixby line connect, as mine do. Rebecca JACOBS, born about 1784, married a Mr. ? Bixby. Their daughter Mary Rebecca BIXBY, born abt 1805 in Quebec, married Richard HAY abt 1820 at St. Andrews, Argenteuil, Que. Richard died probably before 1851. Mary Rebecca died 4 Oct 1844 in Que. They had several children including Margaret Rebecca HAY, Sarah HAY, and Hannah HAY. Margaret Rebecca HAY (my great grandmother) was born 20 Aug 1835 in Que. Married Alfred MERRITT 29 Aug 1854. Alfred MERRITT was born 6 Jan 1835 in England. He was a blacksmith and carriage maker. I'm not familiar with the book you mention. I'll try a search. My Merritt line came from England (Alfred MERRITT's parents may have been (not sure) William MERRITT and Harriet HILSDON) to Quebec and then Ontario, Canada. Later to Nebraska, and still later Oregon. Since I don't know exactly when they immigrated, I suppose it's possible they could have located in Nova Scotia. Alfred may well have immigrated as a young man. I believe he was apprenticed to Joseph? Palliser, a blacksmith as a teen ager. Does any of this seem to match your line? Hope we can find a connection here. Alice
