To Merritt Message Board at Rootsweb.com I am the gr.gr.daughter of JOHN R, MERRITT b.28 MAR.1820-25 IN TEN,VA.KY.d.17 JAN, 1888 WAYNE,CO,W.VA,m.1842-43 to Nancy JANE MUSICK b.18 Nov.1822-26 VA.N.C.KY.d. 10 Aug. 1911 also in Wayne,CO,w,VA.,they had 17 issues first, Jacob W. 7 dec. 1843 Floyd,CO.KY,IN 1860 census was 9children & a 80 year old tabitha merritt with them,their other issues b.in Wayne,they moved to Chase, CO.kan.in 1881 with their younger kids who stayed lived & died there some of them some moved to other states.JOHN & NANCY TRAVILED a lot to there fam's homes.moved back to Wayne in1887..I had cousins,aunts uncles,in many states back in 1930-40-50-60 that I heard about ,but most were d,by the time I STARTED doing fam,history in1979,I wrote thousand's of letters in the past 20 years,but most of them did not answer,or wanted to be bothered about their dead.they had enough problems with their living ones,now they have moved to many other states,,all with lg. families,have abt. 3000 names from their issues,, Mary L.
