I am hoping that someone on the Merritt list might have the Doel/Merritt connection that I am eager to find. I am researching my gggrandmother's (Charlotte Doel) family.  I had hit a dead end when I was given a blip from the Kingsville, Ashtabula Co. Ohio area about Philip Doel who was my gggrandmother's brother. The information states that Mesdames Merritt attended the 80th birthday of her uncle Philip Doel of Geneva, Ohio on July 19, 1898.  Philip immigrated from Bere Regis, Dorset, England to Quebec, Canada and then in 1838 to Ashtabula Co. Ohio.  If anyone can connect the Doel and Merritt families, I would greatly appreciate your sharing what information that you have. Thank you, Jim Taylor of Warren, Ohio
