Hi Liz, Don't know if we've been in contact before, but my great grandfather was James A. Merritt of Early and Miller Counties of southwest GA (actually he was born in 1851 in Sampson County, NC). He had two brothers: Robert Alger Merritt and Williard Hinton Merritt. Do you suppose your James Robert Merritt is any connection to my line? Mitzi
