I am looking for the parents and sibs of Hezekiah Merritt. He came from Washington Co., Pa in 1795 with his wife/consort? Rachael Anderson and the first five of their eleven children to Ohio. He was born about 1766 but am not sure where. His eldest son was John. He married a second time in Scioto Co., Ohio and had two more children. I know that he met two brothers when he came to Ohio but do not know what their names are. The Merritt brothers were invited to help Col Nathaniel Massie to go up the Scioto River and survey for the town of Chillicothe, but were turned back by Indians. Hezekiah did start a grist mill that he operated on the river and took up and down to towns and farms. He owned land on both sides of the Scioto in Pike and Scioto Co.
