    3. Ken, based on my own experience with Douglas Merritt, I'd say he probably got it right. I'm sure the place existed: Here's a 1794 genealogical reference to "Boston Four Corners, Dutchess Co., NY" members.nbci.com/eggy77/WC02/WC02_073.htm If I were searching old maps for such a town, I'd look very close to Poughkeepsie or perhpas a bit further north near a village called Tivoli. There's also a chance it could be on the extreme eastern side of the county, near Kent and Sharon, CT. In case you're not familiar w Dutchess County, it lies between the Hudson River on the western boundary and the State of Connecticut on the eastern boundary. To the south lies Putnam County, NY and a bit further south, Westchester County, NY. Good luck, Mark Merritt Researching Kent County, MD families, including: Merritt, Miller, Beck, Wickes, VanSant, Davis, Burgan and allied lines Ken Jackson wrote: > I guess that I don't know any more than I found in the reference (Revised > Merritt Records by Douglas Merritt). It lists Ebenezer's place of death as > Four Corners, Dutchess County, New York. Thanks for the input.
