http://www.geocities.com/~surryco/mar98.html COTTON/MEREDITH/BAGBY/FULKERSON Marla Webb Mar 3 I am looking for any information related to my ancestor Caleb Cotton born about 1780 in Rowan County. He married Nancy Meredith in Surry County 6 Nov. 1801. The bondsman was Thomas C. Burch and witness William Meredith. She is believed to be a descendant of the family of James Meredith Sr. and Mildred (Bagby) Meredith of Stokes and Surry Counties. The William Meredith who was witness to the marriage bond is believed to be the Capt. William Meredith of Kings Mountain. Her father was James B. Meredith and mother was Nancy (Fulkasin) (Fulkison)(Fulkerson). I am searching for any source regarding these parents of Nancy Meredith. Nancy Fulkasin may have been of Cherokee Blood. Her granddaughter, my gggrandmother was of Cherokee Blood. Caleb Cotton's father has been stated as being a James Cotton. There have been different names of the mother of Caleb Cotton given. The names are Sarah Crouch, Blue Bird, & Shropsey. These names have come from information handed down by different descendants. This is all the information I have to go on. Any help on these family names would beappreciated. http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?gsfn=Mildred&gsln=Bagby&sx=&gskw=&S erver=search&DatabaseID=3722&db=messageboards&ti=0&refine=1&prox=1&submit.x=22 &submit.y=9 http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/message/an/localities.northam.usa.states.nor thcarolina.counties.guilford/472.881 Submitter: Pat Subject:meredith-farrington Message:James Meredith, Jr 9-12-1745 Louisa/Hanover Co., Nc m:@1769 d:@1830 Stokes Co., Nc. m:Mary Crews b:@1752 Bedford Co., Va D: @1823 Stokes Co., Nc.
