I am in possession of pictures of Franklin & Julia Meredith’s family, and some are labeled simply “Grandma Baker’s brothers and sisters – the Merediths. Perhaps you can help identify some of them. Franklin Meredith & Julia Ann Neldon are my great-great grandparents. I descend from: 1. John & Eva Neldon from Bedford County, PA, 2. Son: Frederick (b. 1781) married Eva Catherine Ween (about 1814 in PA.). 3. His daughter: Julia Ann Neldon (b. 1830 in Coshocton County, Ohio) married Franklin Meredith (b. 1828 in Coshocton County, Ohio ) on January 4, 1852. Franklin Meredith’s parents were: DAVE MEREDITH (b. 10/11/1780) and EVE NELDON, (b. 08/28/1790) the daughter of John & Eva Neldon from Bedford County, PA. and Sister of Frederick. Frank & Julia ended up in Harrison County, Missouri where my great grandmother, Luvina Elizabeth Meredith (b. 06-22-1862 in Indiana...they must have been on the move to Missouri??) married my great grandfather, William Henry Harrison BAKER on 09-07-1879. Their daughter, Alta May Baker (b. 12/23/1894) married James Benjamin Emory Snead (b. 10-01-1893) on October 13, 1922 in Denver, Harrison County, Missouri. One of their three children was my father, James William Snead, b. 10-26-1915 – d. 09-07-2001. My grandmother, Alta May Baker Snead, told me that Dave Meredith originally came from Delaware. She had occasion to see the Family Bible belonging to Eva Catherine Ween when it was in the possession of her grandmother, Julia Ann Meredith, and she said the Bible was written in German. She said that she realized the importance of the family history written on its pages and copied down as much as she could. This information though scant, she passed on to me. When Julia Meredith died, grandmother told me she no longer knew who had the Bible, but it was probably a Meredith descendant.
