    3. Old information and up date on Thomas D. Meredith/Merideth. Thomas Merideth and Mary E. Hale married on 8 August 1861 by G. T. Jones, JP at Franklin Co., Mo. filed 4 October 1861. Their children according to various Franklin Co Missouri Census : Mary F. think Frances; Jasper/Jack/James; Matilda Ellen (Tildey); and Laura Isabelle. Laura is my grand mother who was born 21 Jan 1877. I have descendants of all these children but can only find the mother of Thomas D. as she was shown listed as Martha Meredith living with: 1880 June 8 Prairie twp, Franklin Co Mo census p 196B dwelling l83. The 1880 Franklin Co MO census shows both of Thomas's parents born in Kentucky and he in Missouri. It indicates that his wife, Mary Elizabeth HALE, her parents and the four children listed were all born in Missouri. Listed as below: [My brother Frank says it should be MerEdIth not MerIdEth]:. Also regarding MerIdeth and MerEdith: Thu, 26 Mar 1998 I received e-mail from James MERIDETH with this information: " I don't know if I can be of much help to you. Thomas [D.] MerEdith was my Great Great Grandfather. His son Jasper (James) was my Great Grandfather and the one who semi-officially changed the spelling of the name to MerIdeth as his father had wanted. The headstone on Jaspers grave, however, still has the name MerEdith." This line of Merideths still live in the area, but James has not answered my posts. He may not know any more than I do about Thomas's parents. Help!!! and thanks for your time. What little I have will share. -- nTX USDA Z 7B Leona [Lee]leo@1starnet.com Non Commercial site http://www.geocities.com/tvksi/index.htm
