Roy DeWITT, 78, Mentone, died Friday at 9:25 a.m. in the Veteran’s hospital, Fort Wayne. He had been ill five months. Born Jan. 20, 1892, near English, Ind., he was married Feb. 18, 1928, to Ruth A. MEREDITH, who survives. A former employee of the U.S. Rubber company, Fort Wayne, he was a member of the Nazarene church, a veteran of W.W. I, and a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. Surviving are two sons, Elmer [DeWITT], Noblesville, and Ed [DeWITT], Fort Wayne; one daughter, Mrs. James (Lela) STEIN, Fort Wayne; three brothers, Clarence [DeWITT], Pasadena, Cal., Floyd [DeWITT], Louisville, Ky., and Oscar [DeWITT], California; seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Final rites will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the King Memorial funeral home, Mentone. Burial will be in the Mentone cemetery.
