I had forgotten that was true, since Meredith is not my primary line of research. According to the family tree that I have, Col. Samuel Meredith, b. 1732 and settled at "Winton", Amherst Co, VA in 1780, d. Dec. 22, 1808, married to Jane Henry, b. June 19, 1738(?) and died Aug. 12, 1819. she and her brother Patrick were the children of Col. John Henry and Sarah Winston. Samuel was the brother of Capt. Elisha Meredith, Sr. of "Snow Hill", Hanover Co, VA and their parents are Samuel Meredith, Jr and Margaret whose 2nd(?) was William Cabell Samuel and Jane Meredith had Capt. Samuel Meredith who married Elizabeth Breckenridge, Mary Meredith, Sarah Meredith who married an Armistead, Capt. William Meredith who married Sally Lewis and Jane henry Meredith who married a Garland. If a Meredith researcher has corrections or further information, please let me know.
