Prominent citizen of the city, state, and colonies/US) Does anyone have further knowledge of children of Reese Meredith and Martha Carpenter. In particular, there is an Esther Meredith born 1744 in the general area who married Leonard Ballou from the Ballous of VA. Her husband, Leonard, died in Philadelphia while selling cattle in 1783. Esther moved into Smith Co, TN with children and died there in 1818. Her father is listed in family records as Rhys or Rice Meredith, but I wonder if it could be Reese Meredith instead. That seems to be the same name in Wales. Surely, Reese Meredith and wife had more than three children in their 29 years together. Any ideas? Hurston Anderson
