Happy Friday morning to you vivien@petert.plus.com Thank you for your response to the post about Merediths in South Staffordshire. To answer your question " Are you descended from Samuel Meredith?" I am sorry to answer that question with I really do not know at this stage of my ancestrial search. I would like to explain why I posted your query. When I first entered this fascinating "game" called genealogy; Ron Merideth (RonHM@aol.com) was a extensive help to me. I wanted to show my appreciation to Ron, and many others along the way, by becoming a sort of "FAOK" "Friendly Acts of Kindness" person. I sent your post to the MEREDITH-L Rootsweb.com site; with the hope someone out there in Computerland will connect with your search. I wish you good luck....and maybe some day I can call you cousin. These twins died in Nov 1803. The father Joseph Meredith was my 3 x great grandfather. He married Mary Crooks (nee Rochell) in 1803 and I think these are their twins. This was his third marriage. Previously he married Ann----- no surname given. Also Mary Worton of Wombourne and William Meredith bap 1797 at Wombourne is their son. Joseph was the son of Samuel Meredith and Elizabeth,of Sedgley. He was born in 1766. Samuel was bap in 1826 to Samuel Meredith and Sarah (Hardwick) 30 April, at Wombourne. Siblings of Joseph were, Mary 1754, Hannah 1758 and Elizabeth 1763. Samuel married again to Mary Greenway in 1771 at Sedgley. They had Nancy 1771, Sarah 1775 and Jemima 1778. Are you descended from Samuel Meredith? The twins aforementioned, had 2 brothers, Benjamin born 1805 and Joseph 1808.(born Sedgley.) Regards, Vivien Cooke.
