Marriages 1843-1865 the consolidated hand written index have this entry on page 533 Thomas Merideth and Mary E. Hale married on 8 August 1861 by G. T. Jones, JP at Franklin Co., Mo. filed 4 October 1861.(Frank says he is sure it should be spelled Meredith rather than Merideth.)I, Leona, have copy. 1850 Mo Franklin Co has a John Meredith listed on page 120 of Being TWP. Franklin Co Tribune page 4 17 May 1907 shows Thomas as Overseer of roads in an area of the County. Have copy of page. The 1870 Mo census doesn't seem to have any of the right Meredith/Merideth families in it, so checked the Arkansas 1870. found several families, but none in Sevier nor Green co seemed to work. Found a 42 year old female E. C. Merideth [b abt 1828,]living in Green Co, Muricane Twp with Joseph J. Harlan (?) family born in KY . Thomas's mother, would have been born well before 1828. The 1880 census for Prairie TW, Franklin Co MO Shows Martha Meredith living with her son-in-law John Wiley and daughter Elizabeth. Elizabeth is Thomas's sister and Martha his mother. do not have Martha's maiden name to date.. The 1880 Franklin Co MO census shows both of Thomas's parents born in Kentucky and he in Missouri. It indicates that his wife, Mary Elizabeth HALE, her parents and the four children listed were all born in Missouri. Listed as below: [My brother Frank says it should be MerEdIth not MerIdEth]:. Gallenkamp Book 6 of above set shows: Meredith Thomas D and wife to Mary F. Standifer Nov 9, 1889 W.D. b35 P587. Mary is Thomas's daughter who married Erie L. Standifer 8 Aug 1880. 1915-16-17 index to Franklin Co Missouri Deeds shows: Merideth, T.D. to Frank Halley B80 - 254 " to Laura Halley and Frank Halley 19 Oct 1903 BK80 p 255 The Virginia Mines community had a postoffice, established 13 Feb 1838 and a Daniel Conn was the first Post Master. It was discontinued 29 Jan 1856 then re-established 19 Apr 1871. It stayed open until 11 Feb 1876 . It was located in section 16 twp 41, range 1 east about a half mile from the left bank of the Meramac River. This was a mining community. Tiff and lead. Standifer daughter Oklahoma [Erie Standifer's wife] Laura Halley " St Clair MO [This would be Lara Isabell Meredith] Tilda Pierce (dead) " " [Matilda Wife of Arthur C Pierce] children of Tillie/Tilda: Berta Pierce Mana married {Monnie Pierce] Essie May Lewis Ellie Lewis Verta Pierce the relationship show these children are neices but if Tillie (Matilda) is daughter, then these are his grandchildren. I do show her as daughter accordimg to 1880 census. Application for distribution of Personal Assets of Deceased dated February term of 1914 shows Manna surname as Magee of St Louis, Essie as McMullen of St Louis, May as Lewis of St Clair, Ellie as a Lewis of St Clair, and Verta as a Pierce of St Clair. A Four Rivers Genealogy Asociation member found this item: "Thomas D. Meredith, George, inquest held by J.W. Short Jusice of the Peace, in 1913. I also have record of one Thomas D. Meredith who was given $600 as a loan of school funds 3-3-1881." Other parts of the material she sent me show he died of heart failure in a hog pen. Franklin County, Missouri VOLUME A 1819 -1845p160: Thomas Standefer and Jane Queny Penrod both of Franklin Co., Mo. married on 28 November 1839 by P. Cole, JP at Franklin Co., Mo. the hand written index has Fane Q. Penrod; the consolidated hand written index has Joanne Penrod. Including this information this record as this may be Thomas D's father?????
