I'm new to the list. I'm descended from JAMES MEREDITH, who was born about 1720, and died about 1800 in probably Franklin Co., VA. His daughter: 2. MOLLY "MARY" MEREDITH was born about 1745, and died Aft. 1814. She married SAMUEL BIRD about 1763. He was born 1740, and died Aft. 1814, probably in Franklin Co., VA Notes for SAMUEL BIRD: Samuel Bird first appears in Pittsylvania Deed Bk 3, p 180, taking up 190 acres on Reed Creek in 1772. He was the son of Thomas Harvey Bird and Susannah Thornton. He married Frances Draper, dau. Of William Draper and Lucy Meredith October 9, 1837 in Henry, VA. Frances Draper was b. 1817 in VA, age 33 on the 1850 census and age 45 on the 1860 Census of Henry Co., VA. She died March 11, 1865 in Henry Co., VA.
