    3. There was a fow of immigrants into the area. Mostly what I know of is Old Town, Maine about 8 miles from Bangor. It is on the Penobscot River. Logging was it's big boom industry. There were many french and there is a section of town that is named French Island. There is also a website for Old Town but right off hand I do not have the URL. I live in Old Town, on French Island and might be able to do some look ups/ keep in mind I am relatively new at this but willing. Hope this is some help. Debby Jean

    3. Hi debby jean The University of Maine at Orono Library has a Special Collections Room on the second floor with some great genealogy stuff. They also have all the Maine Census' (and some of New England and Canadian Atlantic Provinces. Worth a look. Nice to see Charles King's messages too.
