My husband's grandmother, Geneva Eliza Gordon, kept a birthday book. Two of the entries are Harriet M. Ames Straw, B. 04-11-1866, D.12-16-1956, and Harrold Straw, B. 10- 12-1888, D. 07-17-1895. The LDS web page says that Hattie M. Ames married Alfred G. Straw October 21, 1888 in Bangor, Maine. Geneva Eliza Gordon (b July 26, 1876) married Wilfred M. Miller first and second Charles Edward Hewes, all of Hermon, Penobscot, Maine. My sister-in-law has Hattie Straw in her birthday book, but can't remember who she is or why she has her in her book. We both would like to find out more about Harriet and Harrold, and if they have a connection to our family. We'll appreciate any help. I have access to the census records but not to an index for Maine for 1900 - can someone help with that? Alta
