Hello Everyone, I'm currently researching the following individuals from Penobscot County, Maine: Robert SAMPSON (b. Abt. 1795; d. 15 Mar 1862 in Dexter, Penobscot Co.., ME) m. Nancy ___? and they had *at least* the following children: Darius SAMPSON (b. Abt. 1820 in Dexter, ME) and William SAMPSON (b. 1817 in Dexter, ME). Darius SAMPSON married Nancy Ann STOCKBRIDGE, of the Revolutionary War STOCKBRIDGE family, on 25 Nov 1839 in Civil, Corinth, Penobscot Co., ME. I do not know who William SAMPSON married. Darius and Nancy [Stockbridge] SAMPSON had 6 children in total, 4 boys and 2 girls (those who survived to adulthood). I only know three of these children, and they are as follows: Frank Augustus SAMPSON (birthdate/place unknown) m. Rowena M. SHAFFSTALL (b. Jan 1854), daughter of Solomon SHAFFSTALL and Zilpha Lurana MARSH, on 11 May 1872 in Dexter, Penobscot Co., ME. Charles Melvin SAMPSON (b. 1862 in Dexter, Penobscot Co., ME; d. 1933 in Sturgeon Bay, Door Co., WI) married Josephine HOULE (b. 1862 in DePere, Brown Co., WI; d. 1953 in Sturgeon Bay, Door Co., WI). I am connected through Charles and Josephine [Houle] SAMPSON, who had the following children: Bernard Francis SAMPSON (b. 29 Feb 1892 in Sturgeon Bay, Door Co., WI; d. 6 Nov 1962 in Los Angeles Co., CA), Marie SAMPSON (b. 11 Sep 1899 in Door Co., WI; d. Orange Co., CA), Ruby SAMPSON (b. 1885; d. 1886), Edward J. SAMPSON (b. 1 Dec 1897 in WI; d. Jul 1970 in WI), and Nancy Ida SAMPSON (b. 13 Jun 1905 in WI; d. ?). This is where the Maine connection ends for me, however I do not know if any of Charles Melvin SAMPSON's siblings remained in Penobscot County, or if their descendants remain there today. I am also interested in the parental family of Darius SAMPSON, also of Maine, and whether he had any other siblings besides William. Thanks a lot.
