This is my first posting to the list. I am researching all the following surnames in Maine, all of which I am connected to MACKINNON, DEWS, STEWART, LAROCHELLE, GRAY and WEYMOUTH. I would be interested in hearing from anyone who is also researching these surnames or anyone who has any information on them. This is the information I have so far: CHARLES ALBERT DEWS (woolen mill ownner) married MARTHA JANE WEYMOUTH. They had two sons EDWIN GARFIELD and MILLARD ALVEIT. EDWIN GARFIELD DEWS (7.18.1881-2.1.1975) married INEZ GRAY 11.28.1901 at ELLSWORTH, ME. He went to school in DOVER - FOXCROFT, GUILFORD and Higgin Classical Institute in CHARLESTON. Children were CHARLES EDWIN and IRENE. He worked as a fireman for Northern Pacific in Pasco, Washington until his wife died and he returned to Maine. He remarried to ROSE MULLET/BATTEN on 10.30.22. Other employment included running the Kenduskeag Canoe and Country Club, Fay and Scott Machine Shop (Hampden) and Amos Company Woolen Mill. He retired as an employee of Abbotts Woolen Mill. CHARLES EDWIN DEWS married BLANCHE LAROCHELLE at DEXTER, ME on 8.27.1927. Children were EDWIN and EVELYN INEZ. EVELYN INEZ DEWS (8.25.1928 - 4.3.1984) married GARLEN EDWARD MACKINNON (9.7.1923-10.20.1994). Had one son DUANE EDWARD. Evelyn remarried on 8.10.1946 to PHILIP YOUNG. BLANCHE LAROCHELLE' s brothers were LEO, MAURICE, RIMI,and PETE. Her sisters were ANTOINETTE, EVELYN, DELIA and GERMAINE. She also had a son REGGIE whose fathers surname was GILBERT. GEORGE H. MACKINNON(11.5.1903 - 3.31.1990) married MARGARET F. STEWART in FAIRFIELD, ME on 7.21.1923. Children were GARLEN EDWARD, DICK, MARLENE. MacKinnons were originally from Prince Edward Island. GARLEN EDWARD MACKINNON remarried THELMA C. PALMER/CLARK in GUILFORD,ME on 7.23.1947. Children were Sharon(Sherry) and GARY. The family then moved to Florida in the 1960's?
