My ggg grandmother, Sophia Cote, married Joseph Benoit/Bennet about 1840 probably in The Bangor or Olde Town area. I don't think Joseph Benoit was from this area but I think Sophia Cote was. I think French Canadians may have been in Olde Town in the early 1800's. Does anybody have any information that would indicate that there was a Cote/Cota family was living in the Bangor or Olde Town areas in 1820?
