    3. Well the first title is complete and correct. The second should read "Marriage returns of Penobscot County Maine prior to 1882", though there are none earlier than 1827 and very few in those first years. Large libraries with genealogy collections might hjave them -- more likely the further east you live. My recommendation is to spend $50 for membership in New England Historic and Genealogical Society and make use of their 30,000 volume lending library, as I'm doing. It's a bargain compared to a genealogical "vacation trip" back east. The probate records book show citations to the original records. I haven't yet written for mine, but I understand that the Bangor Public Library has a set and will copy specified pages for a modest fee.
