Hi Rae Robertson Would you please look up John Chamberlain and Lucy Keene. There marriage would have happened on or before 1854. Thank You Nancy
Hi Rae, Thanks for the offer. What is the starting date of the records. I don't want to bother you needlessly if the records don't go early enough since the surname is Adams.... Hi All, We have a homepage! Will be genealogy and pictures, eventually, but until I get it all figured out, it's two abbreviated family trees and "the kids". Check it out if you like at: http://www.geocities.com/county04747/Home.html Loreen
As a followup to my message yesterday, using the census index for Maine in 1860 I located Moses Aldrich in Carroll, Penobscot, Maine. Does anyone have access to the census who could do a lookup of the entry on page 516? Thanks. Lin Wright ethelind@athens.net
I was reading Arnold Deane Aldrich's _A Genealogical Survey of the Descendants of Moses Aldrich and Arnold Aldrich of Inverness Township, Queben, Canada (1984) and on page 4 he writes of my 3rd -gr-grandfather's brother: "Moses West ALDRICH, born in Vermont on May 16, 1810 . . . and married Bernice RICKER of Ireland Township on January 18, 1831. Moses west and Bernice had at least two children: Joseph Inverness and William T. No information on later events is the life of Moses West has been confirmed, however, some data indicate the possibility of a second marriage and numerous descendants in Penobscot County, Maine." Does anyone have any information on this line of possible cousins in Penobscot County? Thanks. Ethelind Wright ethelind@athens.net (moving north in Oct. 2000 future email: ethelind@acadia.net)
My husband's grandmother, Geneva Eliza Gordon, kept a birthday book. Two of the entries are Harriet M. Ames Straw, B. 04-11-1866, D.12-16-1956, and Harrold Straw, B. 10- 12-1888, D. 07-17-1895. The LDS web page says that Hattie M. Ames married Alfred G. Straw October 21, 1888 in Bangor, Maine. Geneva Eliza Gordon (b July 26, 1876) married Wilfred M. Miller first and second Charles Edward Hewes, all of Hermon, Penobscot, Maine. My sister-in-law has Hattie Straw in her birthday book, but can't remember who she is or why she has her in her book. We both would like to find out more about Harriet and Harrold, and if they have a connection to our family. We'll appreciate any help. I have access to the census records but not to an index for Maine for 1900 - can someone help with that? Alta
