I found on page 12 of "Inscriptions of Cemeteries in Hermon, Maine" by Thelma Eye Brooks, the following: GUBTIL, Wilbur F. d. Feb 26, 1913, 60y 9m 9d. My husband is descended from Peter Gubtil, one of the early settlers of Hermon, through his daughter Olive, and I thought I had found all the Gubtils buried in Hermon Pond Cemetery but I don't have Wilbur F. Can someone tell me if he is connected to Peter Gubtil and if so what the relationship was? I'll be greatful for any clues. Alta

I've "rescued" an old photograph of Ruby FLETCHER HOIT taken at the Weston Studio in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine. I believe this is a photograph of Ruby M. FLETCHER b. 11 May 1874 at Dixmont, Penobscot, Maine at 18 years of age taken in 1892 just prior to her 17 Aug 1895 marriage to Charles B. HOIT of Dixmont, Penobscot, Maine. Ruby M. FLETCHER's parents were Pillsbury C. FLETCHER and Hellen M. BURCH. On the reverse of the photograph is written the name "Mrs. Fred PARSONS" which may refer to Gertie E. FLETCHER who married Fred M. PARSONS in Civil, Penobscot, Maine on 1 Mar 1888. I'm assuming that this is a FLETCHER relative of Ruby's who was given the photograph, maybe Ruby's aunt or cousin. Not sure there is a connection, however, I also obtained a photograph of Mrs. Frances HALEY taken in Portland, Maine from the same source. I mention it just in case there is a recognized connection between these family names. I'm hoping to find Ruby's family and return the photograph to the family so that it can once again become the cherished family possession that it should be, however, to date I've been unable to locate any family. Okay these are up now Kittery and Kittery point cemeteries has 3 pages. I did some changes on my first page no more door just an enter sign, I also added a Maine Genealogy Links page on my links page. so far the vote leads to backgrounds. so Maybe I can make the writting bolder? I have had alot of nice responces to my work and I appreciate hearing from everyone. The reason I am writting is because I would like to add many more cemeteries to my list.I have found it very important to help people that are searching there roots in Maine. I am looking for information on John Lapoint b abt. 1844 in Canada m. Ida Wright b. Dec 1839 about 1865. The 1900 census has them living with their son in law Andrew Carrow (Andre Caron). Andrew was married to their daughter Victoria who had died by 1900. The census shows that they (John & Ida) had 11 children. I know of three, John Jr., Alexander and Victoria.
