    1. [MEPENOBS-L] Re: [NB-L] Introduction
    2. EDWARD D COSTELLO
    3. NANCY ---- I dont know where Peter Haggerty & wife Nancy McGuire lived in New Brunswick . Finding where they were located is part of my quest. I know the following: 1. Their tenure in NB was ~ 5 years from <1828-1831. USA/INS records state that they entered the USA, Bangor ME, 1831. When they arrived in NB Canada from Co Donegal Ireland is not known precisely, family legend indicates that they arrived ~ 1825. 2.There is a record at St Dunstans RCCh in Fredericton NB that their oldest duughter, Mary-Ann, was bap. there, 13 September 1829. USA census support the fact that she was NB born. Precisely where in NB is not known, but she was probably born in the Fredericton NB area.. 3. USA census records support the fact that Peter & Nancy's 2nd daughter, Bridget Sophia, was born in NB Canada, but again, precisely where is not known. 4. Peter Haggerty (and partners) also received, it is recorded, in 1828, a land grant for 598 acres at Alston Point, Town of Bathurst, Gloucester Co, NB. I'm now trying to contact the local RCCh to find a supporting record. 5. Peter & Nancy resettled, after Bangor ME, in the Houlton ME area, near Woodstock, Carlton Co, NB. Some of their later kids were bap. at St Gertrude's RCCh there. They were parishoners there, I think, because there was'nt any other RCCh in the Houlton ME area at that time. But I dont positively know that they were not residents in Woodstock, Carlton Co, NB at that time. 6. I'm not aware that Peter & Nancy had any Haggerty siblings or relatives in NB, ME or anywhere. Although I've found other Haggerty's at that time in both NB & ME. Thankyou for your interest & I hope that you come up with something. 1. [MEPENOBS-L] Sounds like Marcott, Merrill, Marner, Mornea, Mayyo ?
    2. We're looking for a needle in a haystack, so will try all avenues. A search from an English woman involves a Maine soldier (Bob), stationed in England in WW II. His family had a sawmill/lumber yard, which his mother ran while he was overseas His last name started with "M" and "was pronounced" as one of the above. Not much to go on, but perhaps it will ring a bell with someone, who could connect the Maine family with the English people who remember Robert with affection. If you have any information which might lead to this connection contact Sally Vincent at Salvin@lineone.net. Muriel S. Parker, Librarian John B. Curtis Free Public Library Bradford, ME

    3. I am looking for any information on OLIVER FROST, the son of Sarah Frost-Russell. She came to Maine in the 1780s with her second husband, Abel Russell, and the two sons of her first marriage, Oliver and John Frost. They lived in Fayette. Oliver appears (at least I think it is him) in a court case in Readfield in 1803, and I think he might have gone to Bangor where he might be the one that is listed in the 1810 census for Bangor. I would like to know if he married and who his children were, and where he went after 1810. Thanks! Phil Noss
