Hi ALL I love getting these even though I can't find much on my own family (Switzerland to Alsace Lorraine to US--Pelsy/Belsy/Belsley/Boeltzli and probably a couple of other variations.) BUT....I do have info on my husband's family, Garrison, in an excel spreadsheet form, going back to pre-1700.  I numbered each generation, so it should be easy to follow (it has to be if I made it!).  You do have Garrison in your list, but I don't think there is any connection. Hundreds of the more than 21,000 identified-to-date descendants of Valentine and Anna Nissley Metzler gathered on 14-15 June 2013 for a reunion on the 275th anniversary (year) of Valentine's arrival in Pennsylvania. We met at the Metzler Mennonite church near Ephrata, Pennsylvania and toured sites in Lancaster county relevant to our ancestry. I am researching the family of Johannes Brennemann and Margarethe Otto and am trying to determine the source of the information in Guth's book on Mennonite genealogy. In particular, I am trying to understand the organization of the records for their area in the Duchy of Nassau in the LDS FHL catalog. When we look for records of Marburg, Treysa, Ziegenhain and Rauschenberg, they all refer to Rauschenberg (which is Kreis Kirchhain) in the LDS Family History Library Catalog. Do the records of Rauschenberg have those other places included or is it only Rauschenberg? Why does the LDS Library Catalog group all these records together referring to the same area? Are Rauschenberg records the only ones available in Germany for that area? Or are records for the other towns available in those towns? Where would records for births and marriages in be located for these other towns? Does anyone have access to LDS FHL catalog film numbers 851391, 851392, 851393 for some look ups? I am looking for a marriage of Margrethe Otto to Johannes Brenneman in Feb 1821 and the marriage of the same Margrethe Otto to John Otto between 1827-1832. Thanks for any help or search suggestions.
