Get his birth certifacate and get both parents names, deaths. You might find that info on his death cert, if not birth cert will do and if his parents where born in the USA then go city hall, where ever they may keep birth and death records. I also believe that you are able to view these records for free at those locations or may pay small fee for copies. Good luck in search.
